Unslinky

Unslinky is an author who primarily writes what's known as "whump": a variation on the hurt/comfort fic trope ("one character is hurt, the other must care for them") in which the injured character is hurt repeatedly and excessively. Unslinky stories typically involve a Tenth Doctor suffering from repeated leg injuries, yet unable to regenerate and forced to remain in the care of companions and an extended family of original characters Unslinky creates as part of her worldbuilding.

Unslinky is also Teaspoon's most prolific author – so prolific, in fact, that her word count vastly exceeds that of many popular published science fiction and fantasy authors.

Chart comparing Unslinky's output over time (8,147,990 words over 9 years) to nonelvis (278,976 words over 11 years), JRR Tolkien (680,262 words over 40 years), and George RR Martin (1,736,054 words over 15 years)

Not only does Unslinky's output far dwarf the entire Lord of the Rings series (plus The Hobbit and The Silmarillion), as well as the entire A Song of Ice and Fire series, according to charts found via Reddit, she also exceeds the entire Terry Pratchett Discworld series (just over 3,500,000 words) and the entire Robert Jordan Wheel of Time series (nearly 4,500,000 words). Unslinky's longest story, "Terminal Decay," is 3,065,944 words, with 1,002 chapters and 4,448 reader reviews. It's an astonishing accomplishment for any author, let alone one who can do it in only nine years.

Sadly, we haven't any new work from Unslinky in nearly a year. She does occasionally take long hiatuses from the site, but this the longest so far. We hope she comes back soon; the site isn't the same without her.
