Statistics by era, genre, and rating

Teaspoon exploded in popularity during the Tenth Doctor's era, and our statistics reflect this. But it's one thing to look at the raw numbers on the home page – over 20,000 Tenth Doctor stories, with the next largest era, Torchwood, at just over 6,000 – and another thing entirely to explore what those numbers look like in terms of era, genre, and ratings.

I created this sunburst diagram to explore that. It's based on vasturiano's D3 code, and allows you to click through to specific eras, genres, and ratings by genre. (Click or tap on the center to return to the previous view.)

Because stories may cross eras and genres, stories were assigned point fractions based on how many of each they included; for example, a story with three genres counted 1/3 of a point for each genre. I then rounded era and genre totals to the nearest whole number and charted those.
